Comprehensive Collaborative Agreement with Chiba Institute of Technology
On Monday, June21,2022, the University of Yamanashi and the Chiba Institute of Technology have concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement to advance Japanese academics and industry and to develop human resources.
At the signing ceremony held in the Satoshi Omura Museum, President Shinji Shimada, Osamu Setokuma, Director General at the Chiba Institute of Technology and Takafumi Matsui, President at the Chiba Institute of Technology signed the agreement.
President Shimada said, “I am confident that this agreement will improve the level of education and research at both universities and contribute to solving issues required by society, as well as to the development of Yamanashi Prefecture and other regions and the progress of science and technology that supports it.
Also, President Matsui stated, “We would like to actively promote human resource development, education and research without being bound by the framework of private and national universities.
In addition, Governor Kotaro Nagasaki of Yamanashi Prefecture commented in a video message, “I expect that the collaboration between the two universities will greatly contribute to the development of the industrial sector, which is a major industry in our prefecture.
Following the signing ceremony, a commemorative symposium was held, with lectures entitled “98 Years of History of the University of Yamanashi Faculty of Engineering” by Nobuhiro Kumada, former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vice President, and “Robot Technology and Future Society” by Takayuki Furuta, Executive Director and Director of the Future Robot Technology Research Center at the Chiba Institute of Technology.
