Visit of Director Birgit Haese from Centre for East Asian Studies of Dresden University of Technology
Dr. Birgit Haese, Director of Centre for East Asian Studies, Dresden University of Technology (TUD) in Germany visited University of Yamanashi (UY) on November 20th and 21st, 2023.
The purpose of this visit was to exchange opinions with professors of the Center for Promotion of Internationalization on the Japanese language education and study conditions of international students.
On Monday, March 20, Dr. Haese, paid a courtesy call on Director Hiromitsu Nishizaki, Deputy Director Takae Ito, Professor Tetsuya Ezaki, Professor Kazuko Miyamoto, and Assistant Professor Takeshi Nunomura of Center for Promotion of Internationalization, and had exchange of opinions on the details and features of the Center’s Japanese language education, the study conditions of exchange students, campus life, study abroad procedures for dispatched students, and study and living environments in Dresden. After the meeting, she observed Assistant Professor Nunomura’s class and the activities of international students at G-philos (Global Co-creation Study Room).
She also had meeting students studied abroad at TUD and international students from Germany, and it provided an opportunity for a meaningful exchange of ideas for the continuation and enhancement of the exchange program between the two universities.
On Tuesday the 21st, she visited the Inden Museum in Kofu City to further deepen her understanding of Japanese culture.
Through this two-day visit, we expect further promotion of exchange between the two universities.
